Whoring myself out

Ok, since I don't have anyone under me in the "earning" stuff I do online, I am going to have to whore myself out. I promise not to do this often.

What do I think of this cheese? I have never tried it but if it is free, then it can't suck too badly! Nothing tastes better than free.

Something is wrong here

My pants are getting too tight and my shoes are getting too loose.

Shouldn't it be the other way around?

In all honesty, I am pretty happy that I am finally gaining some weight. My metabolism has been in overdrive for years and it is about time that it starts to slow down.

I am stealing ideas....

I read about this on Rebeccas Bargains who found it on La Gringa's blog.

You know all those plastic grocery bags everybody has a million of? You can crochet them into another, stronger, re-usable grocery bag.

Check it out. Someday I will try this, along with all the other great ideas I have found from blogs.

Money

Hooray! I just checked out checking account history and our State Tax Return is finally in there.

Now I know that we *should* adjust our withholdings so we get more in our paychecks and less as a refund, BUT it is better that we get a return at the end of the year. Especially this year.

The HHR needs tags this month, eek due on Sunday. Things always seem to come up in February that are always unexpected.

If the money would have been added to each paycheck, it would have already been spent. This way, it is going directly to the savings account after I pay the HHR tags and do some stockpile shopping this weekend or next.

Let it snow....

It snowed ALL night. It is pretty awesome except I had to drive in it this morning.

The roads are super icy.

Hell, the driveway was super icy. Monk Man was walking a little too fast, hit a patch of ice and took a tumble. He laid there for a minute, deciding whether or not to make a scene but got up laughing and wanted to do it again.

Oh, it is starting to snow again.

Business is going to be good again for a while.

The Grammy's

Did anyone watch?

I didn't. I normally could care less about them except for Kid Rock (gag) was nominated for something. I heard it on the radio but didn't catch the whole thing.

So after searching on swagbucks (trying to earn points for some gift cards), I found out that he was nominated for Best Rock Album. Click here if you want to sign up for swagbucks.

Are you serious? Best Rock Album. Sorry, Kid Rock (gag) does NOT rock. Just because he has it as his last name does not make it true. I think I have posted about my dislike for him once before.

So he was up against Coldplay, Kings of Leon, Metallica and The Racontuers in one category.

Ha ha. He lost to Coldplay.

On a brighter note, Nine Inch Nails (my favorite-est ever) was nominated (more than once even). I don't think they won, I didn't look very closely though.

So, what musician was nominated that YOU can't stand? Who was nominated that you love?

80%

I am 80% addicted to blogging.

Big suprise huh.

Anyway, check it out here.

80%How Addicted to Blogging Are You?

Come back and post your addiction % please!

I took a drive today

through town at lunch time.

This is what I saw:
Fast food parking lots-empty
Grocery store parking lots-empty
Walmart parking lot-empty
Video rental parking lot-empty
Gas stations-empty
Repair shops-empty
Furniture stores-empty
The banks-empty
Coffee shops-empty

The only things that had a noticeable amount of traffic? The PAWN SHOP and the roach motels.

I really hope things start turning around pretty quickly otherwise we are going to turn into a ghost town.

More on the peanut product recall

I stumbled across this article on msn.com.

This part of it REALLY pisses me off:
Last month, when the FDA traced the outbreak of salmonella illness to the Blakely plant, FDA inspectors descended on the factory and catalogued a range of unsanitary conditions, including dead roaches, mold on the ceiling and walls in the cooler where finished products were stored, and rainwater leaking from skylights into the production room. Inspectors found four strains of salmonella and noted deficiencies in the plant's design and construction that invite contamination.

Umm, really? What the hell is going on (or not going on) in that plant that things could be THAT gross? Way to do your jobs.

Sad. Very sad.

The spinach recall/contamination, I could deal with. My kids don't even like spinach.
The tomatoes, I could deal with. I grow my own.
The jalapenos, I could deal with. Honestly, I didn't even know about it until this morning.
But peanut butter, peanut butter crackers, dog treats, ice cream, and everything else that has peanut products in it that I don't realize, not so easy to deal with. We can hardly keep peanut butter in the house. Well, we used to have that problem.

Almost everything I can think of has some kind of peanut product in it. It makes me think twice about what I feed my kids.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The conspiracy theorist in me is thinking that maybe this could be a ploy for us to throw out all of that stuff, wait a few weeks, the FDA will declare it safe again, then we would have to go out and buy new. Stimulating the economy.
BUT the rational part of my brain has squashed that theory. There has been enough proof (well, enough for me) to show that it isn't a conspiracy.
Life
is really kicking my ass right now.
I feel like everything is going by so quickly. There isn't enough time in the day to get anything done. Everything is piling up around me and I can't get caught up.
I need to start focusing on 1 thing at a time again, instead of trying to tackle a ton of things all at once.
Ahhhh. That felt good to get off my chest.
A Request
Hot Belly Mama wanted to hear about how we treat our animals. She is having issues with her cats. Read her blog post about it.......here.
So this is how the cats get treated. The dogs will be some other post.
Our animals have it pretty sweet most of the time. We have 2 dogs, Duke (a 2 year old lab) and Molly (a 5 year old blue heeler/terrier mix). We used to have 2 cats (Karma and PJ) but Duke tried to eat them when they snuck inside the house so my parents stole them from us.
Oh the horror! The cats slept outside. Call PETA, quick!
Whatever. The cats ended up at their house while we were in Colorado visiting MIL and StepFIL at Christmas. My mom finally confessed that my dad was talking about kitty napping them for at least a month.
Before we got Duke, the cats were indoor/outdoor cats. (LoL I type indoor/outdoor and I think carpet.) The cats were fine with it. They had beds, toys, food and water.
Recall
There is a recall on Austin Crackers, made by Kellogs.
Read the MSN article HERE
Specifically, the crackers are Toasted Peanut Butter Sandwich Crackers, Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich Crackers, Cheese and Peanut Butter Sandwich Crackers, and Peanut Butter-Chocolate Sandwich Crackers.
We just pulled the PB&J crackers out of our vending machines at work.
Just a friendly reminder to toss them!
Another Bulldog Bite
I am so pissed I could scream.
Hubbs had to take FIL and the bulldog to the vet yesterday. (FIL has muscular dystrophy so he can't manage the dog at the vet alone) So StepMIL watched Monk Man while they were gone. This is the first time Monk Man had been over to FIL's house since the Thanksgiving fiasco.
The guys get back, the dog comes running in the door and goes straight for Monk Man. Stupid dog bites at Monk Man's arm and gets his sleeve.
Well, when I got home, Hubbs told me the story so of course I wanted to make sure the dog didn't leave any teeth marks on Monk Man's skin.
I pulled up his sleeve and sure as shit there is a mark. It looked like the dogs teeth pinched his arm through his shirt.
I am so done. Done, done, done. I am putting my foot down about this whole dog thing. There is NO way my kids are going to be put in the position to possibly be maimed by a stupid dog.
I don't understand WHY it is so hard for FIL to understand that I don't want the damn dog around my boys! Its easy!
I really hate that they have put me in this position. I really don't want to cut them out of our lives (because I feel that the boys NEED a relationship with their grandparents) but if I have to be a bitch about this stupid freaking mean ass dog, I will be.
The kids safety comes first. Period.
Whoops
I was watching Nip/Tuck last night while Monk Man was passed out on the floor.
Or so I thought.
There was a scene where one of the guys looks at the guy he thought was a chick and says, "Whoah! You have a penis!" The guy/chick responds with, "Yeah, it goes with my balls."
I thought this was HILARIOUS and laughed my ass off.
Fast forward to today at lunch time. Hubbs, Monk Man and I are at the table, finishing lunch. Monk Man spouts off with, "Mom! I have a penis. It goes with my balls!" And he ran away giggling to his "office" (playroom). Hubbs and I looked at each other and busted up laughing.
I didn't have the heart to punish him because he technically didn't say any bad words.
I really thought he was asleep during that whole show, but I guess not.
I need TiVo so I can watch what I want after the kids go to bed.
It Has Been A While
Oh hell, were we ever sick.
The boys passed the puking on to me and Hubbs.
Then the boys would get it again.
This cycle went through our house until Friday. We all started feeling better and I disinfected all weekend.
I hate being sick. Especially now that I have kids.
It used to not matter if I got sick. I could sleep all day and get well. But now, life revolves around taking care of kids, no matter how sick and tired I am.
I guess that comes with the territory.
