Whoring myself out

Ok, since I don't have anyone under me in the "earning" stuff I do online, I am going to have to whore myself out. I promise not to do this often.

What do I think of this cheese? I have never tried it but if it is free, then it can't suck too badly! Nothing tastes better than free.

Something is wrong here

My pants are getting too tight and my shoes are getting too loose.

Shouldn't it be the other way around?

In all honesty, I am pretty happy that I am finally gaining some weight. My metabolism has been in overdrive for years and it is about time that it starts to slow down.

I am stealing ideas....

I read about this on Rebeccas Bargains who found it on La Gringa's blog.

You know all those plastic grocery bags everybody has a million of? You can crochet them into another, stronger, re-usable grocery bag.

Check it out. Someday I will try this, along with all the other great ideas I have found from blogs.

Money

Hooray! I just checked out checking account history and our State Tax Return is finally in there.

Now I know that we *should* adjust our withholdings so we get more in our paychecks and less as a refund, BUT it is better that we get a return at the end of the year. Especially this year.

The HHR needs tags this month, eek due on Sunday. Things always seem to come up in February that are always unexpected.

If the money would have been added to each paycheck, it would have already been spent. This way, it is going directly to the savings account after I pay the HHR tags and do some stockpile shopping this weekend or next.

Let it snow....

It snowed ALL night. It is pretty awesome except I had to drive in it this morning.

The roads are super icy.

Hell, the driveway was super icy. Monk Man was walking a little too fast, hit a patch of ice and took a tumble. He laid there for a minute, deciding whether or not to make a scene but got up laughing and wanted to do it again.

Oh, it is starting to snow again.

Business is going to be good again for a while.

The Grammy's

Did anyone watch?

I didn't. I normally could care less about them except for Kid Rock (gag) was nominated for something. I heard it on the radio but didn't catch the whole thing.

So after searching on swagbucks (trying to earn points for some gift cards), I found out that he was nominated for Best Rock Album. Click here if you want to sign up for swagbucks.

Are you serious? Best Rock Album. Sorry, Kid Rock (gag) does NOT rock. Just because he has it as his last name does not make it true. I think I have posted about my dislike for him once before.

So he was up against Coldplay, Kings of Leon, Metallica and The Racontuers in one category.

Ha ha. He lost to Coldplay.

On a brighter note, Nine Inch Nails (my favorite-est ever) was nominated (more than once even). I don't think they won, I didn't look very closely though.

So, what musician was nominated that YOU can't stand? Who was nominated that you love?

80%

I am 80% addicted to blogging.

Big suprise huh.

Anyway, check it out here.

80%How Addicted to Blogging Are You?

Come back and post your addiction % please!

I took a drive today

through town at lunch time.

This is what I saw:
Fast food parking lots-empty
Grocery store parking lots-empty
Walmart parking lot-empty
Video rental parking lot-empty
Gas stations-empty
Repair shops-empty
Furniture stores-empty
The banks-empty
Coffee shops-empty

The only things that had a noticeable amount of traffic? The PAWN SHOP and the roach motels.

I really hope things start turning around pretty quickly otherwise we are going to turn into a ghost town.

More on the peanut product recall

I stumbled across this article on msn.com.

This part of it REALLY pisses me off:
Last month, when the FDA traced the outbreak of salmonella illness to the Blakely plant, FDA inspectors descended on the factory and catalogued a range of unsanitary conditions, including dead roaches, mold on the ceiling and walls in the cooler where finished products were stored, and rainwater leaking from skylights into the production room. Inspectors found four strains of salmonella and noted deficiencies in the plant's design and construction that invite contamination.

Umm, really? What the hell is going on (or not going on) in that plant that things could be THAT gross? Way to do your jobs.

Sad. Very sad.

The spinach recall/contamination, I could deal with. My kids don't even like spinach.
The tomatoes, I could deal with. I grow my own.
The jalapenos, I could deal with. Honestly, I didn't even know about it until this morning.
But peanut butter, peanut butter crackers, dog treats, ice cream, and everything else that has peanut products in it that I don't realize, not so easy to deal with. We can hardly keep peanut butter in the house. Well, we used to have that problem.

Almost everything I can think of has some kind of peanut product in it. It makes me think twice about what I feed my kids.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The conspiracy theorist in me is thinking that maybe this could be a ploy for us to throw out all of that stuff, wait a few weeks, the FDA will declare it safe again, then we would have to go out and buy new. Stimulating the economy.
BUT the rational part of my brain has squashed that theory. There has been enough proof (well, enough for me) to show that it isn't a conspiracy.
Life
is really kicking my ass right now.
I feel like everything is going by so quickly. There isn't enough time in the day to get anything done. Everything is piling up around me and I can't get caught up.
I need to start focusing on 1 thing at a time again, instead of trying to tackle a ton of things all at once.
Ahhhh. That felt good to get off my chest.
