Do you remember

what you were doing when the Twin Towers fell down?

(A thread on the Bargain Hunters board prompted this post.)

I had just woken up and walked into the living room. My mom was sitting there, in front of the TV with her mouth open.

I remember thinking, What The Hell? and feeling like I wanted to throw up.

We were glued to the TV for the rest of the day. And the days after that.

I was supposed to have classes at the college that day but they cancelled them. Not that I would have gone anyway, the TV had me sucked in for days.

So tell me, what were YOU doing?

I was working at the Head Start and had to take over the class because the lead teacher was glued to the TV.

Try explaining stuff like that to 3, 4, and 5 year olds.

I really wouldnt know what to say to my kids. My (then) 19 year old brain couldnt even really process it all, I cant imagine trying to explain it to a little one and expecting them to understand even a little bit of what the hell was going on.

I was in NY. I posted about it today. It was very therapeutic to finally write it all down.
